More and more, libraries are becoming a destination for technological queries and curiosity. Discover how to build an adequate collection of digital resources without breaking the budget.  Learn about free web resources that can allow your library to reallocate funds and improve reference, Reader’s Advisory, programming, and web services and discover ways to integrate technology into youth programming.

Learning Objectives

  • – Learn about the existence of free e-resources on the Internet that can be included as links on a library’s webpage
  • – Gain strategies for making decisions about paid versus free resources, and gaining staff buy-in for these decisions
  • – Investigate ways to integrate technology with youth programming
  • – Understand the importance of providing technology access and instruction in both rural and more urban settings

For the first time ever, this NYLA program is being offered in a video conference format.  Two sites will be joined by video link, with live speakers presenting at both sites.  The two sites will be completely integrated throughout the program.
