Two new applications from LibraryThing

[via Thingology (LibraryThing’s idea blog)]

It looks like LibraryThing has announced two new products for the library oriented “LibraryThing for Libraries” service at ALA Midwinter. The first announcement is for Shelf Browse which looks like a good looking virtual shelf for your library’s collection. It looks like it will display your library catalog’s results in a visual browser that mimics a book shelf. The second announcement is for a mobile application called Library Anywhere that sounds like it will convert your catalog to a mobile version. These are all services that are part of  LibraryThing’s OPAC enhancement package, though the Library Anywhere sounds like it my require an extra cost.

Find out more about LibraryThing for Libraries. It seems like a simple way to integrate some social features to your OPAC.
