Mentoring

Mentoring Program

The SMART Mentoring Program is meant to help members just beginning their careers in librarianship as well as more experienced members who are faced with a change in work assignment. The mentors are SMART members who are experienced librarians willing to share their knowledge and expertise. Some of the areas where we already have volunteer mentors are: authority control, cataloging, database management, grant writing, inter-library loan, preservation, union listing and standards. It is possible through this program to be both a mentor and a mentee but it is not necessary to do so.
